Battleship TEXAS in Laport Texas (outside of Houston)

This is a interesting place to visit especially if you enjoy history. My nephew chose to take the whole family there on his 15th birthday.
Our extended family ranging from 7 to 57 yrs. in age all really enjoyed this trip.
You can explore the ship at your own pace with audio recordings to guide you along the way. You'll get to see the bunks, mess, the ship's hospital, the brig and much more. You can even sit on and move the gun turrets they used during WW II. You can go deep into the ship to explore the engine room or climb up high to the lookout areas. It is easy to imagine how difficult life was for those stationed aboard.
There was even a "Captain" aboard telling us stories about the ship.
Plan to spend several hours there to see the whole ship. There is also a snack bar area and gift shop to visit.
We did not visit the rest of the monument that day, but I've been told it's a fun place to go.
