Dallas Weather
It's a good idea to keep an eye on Dallas weather when planning a vacation. It can change rapidly, and unexpected rain can put a damper on vacation activities.
Dallas Climate
Dallas has a humid, subtropical climate, but sometimes warm, dry winds blow through from the west and north. Summers can be hot, with average temperatures ranging from 74°F to almost 96°F.
Winters can be cold, with night-time temperatures sometimes dropping to 10-20 °F when cold fronts come through from the north, but generally ranging between 35°F and 60°F. Occasionally it snows in winter too, but it's not the heavy snow falls you get up north.
The wettest month in Dallas is May, with an average rainfall of about 5 inches. October sees about 4 inches of rain, and the rest of the year is drier with the average monthly rainfall being around 3 inches or below.
I think a great time to visit Dallas is in Spring or Fall. In Spring, storms can form very quickly, but otherwise the weather in the Dallas area is very pleasant. There are also lots of wildflowers along the highways during Spring.
