Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History

This has to be my favorite place to go with kids in Fort Worth. Rain or shine, hot or cold, the FW Museum is an awesome locale.

It has activities and interests in hands-on science for preschool kids to adults, including Kidspace (for younger children), the OMNI IMAX theater, and a planetarium.

Your admission also gets you access to the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame (across the street) which houses another area for young people to dress up and some wonderful art and history.

Sections are currently under construction, but various exhibits are available at the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame. The OMNI is scheduled to reopen to the public in Spring 2008 and the renovated building should be available in early 2009.

museum remodeled? for kids
by: Anonymous

The museum has been remodeled for kids only. Remember how you would enter the museum and it had those creepy cave men doing brain surgery on one of them (a staple of the Fort Worth museum), that's gone. So is everything to do with the world. It is now specific to Fort Worth history and science. It used to be creepy and quiet, like a real museum. Now it is loud with kids screaming and running down the long echoing hallways and staircases (a waste of space). It is no longer a museum, it is a romper room for children.
