Main Event in Austin

One of our favorite places to go in Austin is Main Event. It is an indoor entertainment center in northwest Austin.
My kids usually first run off to the rock climbing wall way at the back of the facility. After seeing them scale that wall like a couple of monkeys, I gave it a shot too. It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but once I got it, it was a lot of fun. I even managed to reach the top and ring the bell!
They have rides that simulate roller coasters. One of them shows a 3D movie of a roller coaster ride (you get 3D glasses) and has seats that move and vibrate. It can't beat the real thing, but it's still a lot of fun.
Main Event also has a bunch of other arcade-style games that the kids love. There is also a bowling alley, pool tables, and at certain times they play Texas Hold'em poker.
I think this is a great place to go have fun at, and since it is indoors, especially in times of bad weather. The only thing you have to watch out for is the amount of money you spend there. Other than that, it's great fun for everyone!
(Main Event is off Hwy-183 near Anderson Mill Rd.)
