SCUBA divers and family at Blue Lagoon

(Houston, TX)

Blue Lagoon is located about 1 hour north of Houston.

It is a SCUBA diving park with 2 large lagoons about 30-40 feet deep. The Lagoons are made in an old rock quarry and the water is crystal clear and averages 86 degrees in the summer time.

It is open to the public but you must be with a certified diver who will be required to show their c-card upon entrance.

For those of you who dive, this is a great place to visit and bring the family along. Camp sites are available, most with barbecue pits and picnic tables, some with covered pavilions. You can easily get a pavilion if you call a day or so in advance on the weekends, on the weekdays you will likely have your pick.

It is beautiful and quiet, the water is fantastic. No fish or animal life in the water-sunken platforms and boats, etc. for divers to play on. Check out their website for pictures and information on rental equipment. Tank filling station on site.
