The Salt Lick - Driftwood

The Salt Lick (a barbecue restaurant) isn't located too far from Austin... it's in Driftwood (south of Austin on FM1826).

It definitely deserves to be on this list because its barbecue is beyond compare. This place is so popular that you may have to wait for your table, but it is well worth it.

We love going there! Just remember, it is cash only and BYOB!

Sub Par BBQ. This place does NOT live up to the hype, and its NOT worth the 1hr drive from Downtown Austin. You can pick almost any BBQ shack, shantee, or trailer and get better food. Prices are too high, example: 1lb cooked, not cut sausage links? $15 Most 2 meat plates are around $10
