Can These Things To Do In Dallas Texas Ensure You Have A Great Time?
There are many things to do in Dallas Texas, but are they all fun things for families to do?
We think so! We think there are enough cool things to do in Dallas that any family can have a great vacation there.
Our favorite things to do in Dallas Texas includes the Dallas Aquarium, several Water Parks, Horse-back Riding, a visit to Six Flags, the Dallas Zoo, Dealy Plaza Museum (near where Pres. Kennedy was assassinated), and Southfork Ranch.
If you're going to Dallas, I also want to tell you about Dallas hotels, other Dallas events, give you a Dallas map to help you find your way, and tell you a bit about Dallas weather.
Dallas Aquarium
The Dallas Aquarium (aka Dallas World Aquarium) is a fascinating place.
They have a big aquarium with an underwater tunnel and several cool exhibitions, like the
"Rainforest" (South American jungle), "South Africa", and
"Mundo Maya" (Mayan civilization).
My kids love the Dallas Texas Aquarium. I think yours will too.
Water Parks
There are at least three water parks in Dallas Texas.
Two are two Hawaiian Falls water parks, one in Garland and the other in The Colony. The third
is Bahama Beach water park, south of downtown Dallas.
The Dallas Texas water parks are really great in Texas' hot summers!
Horse-back Riding
Horse back riding was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. I had a horse named Dusty and had
lots of fun riding her. My kids also like horses a lot, but they don't get to do horse back riding as often I did.
I was so happy when I discovered the Double D Ranch where we could all do horse back riding in Dallas Texas.
There is much more than only horseback riding to do though.
I think it is a great place for kids to get the Texas experience!
Six Flags
Six Flags in Dallas Texas is called Six Flags Over Texas in honor of the flags of the
six nations that governed Texas.
Six Flags has a free-fall tower, a wooden roller coaster, several steel roller coasters, trains, and many other rides that my kids love.
A day at Six Flags is always a fun day in my kids' lives! I like it too, but these days I check out roller coasters carefully before I get on them!
Dallas Zoo
Another of my kids' favorite things to do in Dallas Texas is a visit to the Dallas Zoo.
The Dallas Zoo is near downtown Dallas. It covers about 95 acres and has around 1800 animals! The Dallas Zoo also has a very nice area for little kids.
If your kids like animals, take them to the Dallas Zoo. They'll have a good time!
JFK Assassination Site
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963. The shots were
supposedly fired from the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository building. Today, the Sixth Floor
Museum at Dealey Plaza is located in this building.
I think a visit to the museum is worthwhile since the death of Pres. Kennedy had such a profound effect on
our country.
Southfork Ranch
If you were of TV-watching age in the 80s, you no doubt knew about the TV series "Dallas".
Since the end of "Dallas", Southfork Ranch, the Ewing home, has been turned into a
tourist attraction.
We have visited it many times, sometimes with out-of-state visitors and sometimes for my kids' Taekwondo
tournaments. Every visit to Southfork Ranch has been a treat!
Dallas Texas Hotels
With Dallas being a major US city, there are many Dallas hotels to choose from. Dallas has hotels for budget travelers to luxury travelers.
It is important to me that our hotel is close to as many Dallas attractions as possible. Let me tell you about our favorite hotels in Dallas Texas. I have selected them to be as centrally located as possible to our favorite things to do in Dallas Texas.
If you're thinking about staying in a downtown Dallas hotel, I can also tell you about hotels in downtown Dallas Texas.
For a different and special experience, take a look at my favorite Dallas BedAndBreakfasts.
